My wife and I greatly enjoyed your book (the uncorrected proof edition). We have done some medium-distance backpacking in the past (a rather 6 weeks in the high Sierras in perfect weather) and found many similarities to our experiences, within the limits of our idealized hike. We had lots of water and no mosquitos - the perfect balance. I'll be looking forward to seeing you in Seattle.

also -- congratulations on six weeks in the Sierra without mosquitoes. I can't even imagine such a thing! They pursued me relentlessly almost every single day.
