As part of my book tour, I will (apparently) be leading at least one hike into the woods. All I can say is, bring plenty of water. Also, proceed at your own risk. But seriously, if this happens, I will be very careful not to stray too far from civilization. Also, I promise to do a careful head count to make sure that no one gets left behind in the forest.

Come to the midwest- where the best hiking in the world is located! Ok, so perhaps its not the best, but my wife, 8 month old son, Leo and I will go hiking with you if you are out this way. Starved Rock S.P. in central Illinois is the best we have!
I would love to come to the midwest! Because you mentioned it, I am going to Google Starved Rock and look into the possibilities. Actually, I am researching a trail that I would love to hike straight through the Midwest -- though I don't want to say which one, lest I be 'scooped' by another travel writer...
