Freshman year at UCSD, your brother and I took a class in "Music Appreciation". It was a hard core theory class and your brother really got into it, while for me it was pure torture; I just didn't get it. Anyways, the course textbook was this piece of work by Victor Zukerkandl:

http://books.google.com/books?id=NGPwEeRUXs8C&pg=PA3&lpg=PA3&dq=zuckerkandl+bach&source=bl&ots=1PX2AYsF6w&sig=DsC1GxVS18aCI8vC8cCMWS7vR9M&hl=en&ei=iH_RSaePLZDGswO2r9TNAw&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=1&ct=result

during the year, one of our friends, Steve Clemens, was giving out nicknames to everybody. Dave kept bugging him to give him one, and Steve looked over at the Zukerkandl book in David's room and hence he was christened "Zook" which somehow evolved into Zooknoone or Zook No One. and that's it in a nutshell! Gosh, I miss that big guy.

YoundyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
