Cheryl Strayed and the Pacific Crest Trail

The buzz is strong for Cheryl Strayed's new book about her adventure on the Pacific Crest Trail. I haven't read it yet, but if her beautifully written essays are any indication, Cheryl Strayed + PCT will be an excellent combination.

I've been a fan ever since reading her work in Best American Essays volumes 2000 and 2003, which the writer Mark Slouka assigned for a class I took in graduate school some years back. (and by the way, if you ever have a chance to take a class with Mark Slouka, you should. )
